The 2009 Vermilyea Reunion was held July 17-19, 2009 at Troutdale, Oregon (about 12 miles east of downtown Portland) at the Historic McMeniman’s Edgefield Lodge. The Reunion was open to all branches of the Vermilyea/a/e/er family and hosted by Jeremy Vermilyea, son of Scott and Nora Vermilyea and grandson of Veblin and Natalie Vermilyea.

On Thursday evening family members started arriving, the early birds gathered for a fun informal kick-off for the reunion. Friday was a day for site seeing in this beautiful area of the Columbia River Gorge. A room at the Edgefield was reserved for family members to hang out, visit and share photos. About 85 family members enjoyed a beautiful weekend which included a cruise on the Columbia Sternwheeler departing on Saturday from Cascade Locks. The hotel Ballroom was the location for Friday lunch and Saturday evening dinner. A group picture was taken on the front steps of the Edgewood and a special group picture was made of all the veterans that attended.
